hejira
Joni Mitchell’s eighth album, recorded at A&M Studios in Los Angeles. Hejira was written during Joni's road trips across America in 1975–76, where travel became both escape and self-exploration. Disguised under wigs and aliases like “Charlene Latimer” or “Joan Black,” Mitchell shaped songs in motel rooms and along highways, weaving jazz-inflected guitar with Jaco Pastorius’ fretless bass into meditative tone poems.
