Returns Policy

We want you to feel confident ordering from Slow Listen. If something arrives damaged or not quite right, please get in contact. We aim to resolve things fairly and with care, and we’ll always try to make the process as smooth as possible.

Returns & Your Rights

Under UK consumer law:

  • If your tape, CD, or any other product is faulty or not as described, you can return it within 30 days for a refund or, if available, a replacement.

  • If you change your mind, you can return new, non-faulty items within 14 days of delivery. We’ll refund the item cost, and if you paid for shipping, we’ll refund that too.

What Can Be Returned

New Items: Eligible for return if unused, in original condition and packaging.

Second-Hand Items: For second-hand items, we ask that you read descriptions carefully before purchasing. These formats carry their quirks, and we can’t promise perfection. Second-hand items cannot be returned due to a change of mind. Faulty or misdescribed second-hand items are covered under statutory rights. All physical formats are play-tested unless stated otherwise. We use our own grading system based on how an item feels and functions, not just how it looks. Our aim is to be clear and honest about what you’re getting, and to treat every item, new or old, with care and transparency.

How to Start a Return

To start a return, email us at orders@slowlisten.uk within 14 calendar days of receiving your order. Include your order number and a brief description of the issue, photos help too.

We’ll get back to you within 48 hours with next steps. Please don’t send anything back until we’ve replied, we want to make the process as easy as possible. We’ll review your request and do our best to find a fair outcome.

Once approved, please return the item within 7 days. We’ll share the return address and instructions in our reply. Refunds for eligible returns will be issued to your original payment method once received and approved, typically within 14 working days.

Return Postage

  • If the item is faulty or incorrect, we’ll cover the return shipping.

  • If you are returning an item due to change of mind, the customer is responsible for postage to return the item. All orders are sent via Royal Mail Tracked 48, so risk passes to the customer once the parcel is delivered.

Exchanges (for apparel only)

We offer exchanges on clothing items if the size or fit isn’t quite right. To be eligible, items must be unworn, unwashed, and returned in original condition within 14 days of delivery. To request an exchange, email orders@slowlisten.uk with your order number and what you’d like to exchange. We’ll confirm availability and provide next steps.

Return shipping for exchanges is the customer’s responsibility unless the item is faulty or incorrect. Exchanges are treated as new purchases; standard cooling-off rights apply if the exchanged item is eligible.

Please note exchanges are not available for tapes, CDs, second-hand items, lifestyle products, or other physical formats.

Lost or Delayed Items

All parcels are sent via Royal Mail Tracked 48. If your order hasn’t arrived, please contact us and we’ll trace it with Royal Mail. If a parcel is confirmed lost, we will offer a refund or replacement as appropriate.
