Recorded in two sessions at Columbia's 30th Street Studio in New York in 1959, with Miles Davis handing the band little more than sketches and capturing most tracks in a single take. John Coltrane, Cannonball Adderley and Bill Evans turn those sketches into modal jazz on what became the best-selling jazz record of all time.
First released 1959. This CD is the 1997 Columbia reissue, with an alternate take of Flamenco Sketches.
